Happy New Year Everyone!
Cam here, passing by to send you a short message and update on where we’ve been and where we’re going with 99 Lives in 2026!
2025 was one of those years that felt like three years in one, full of so many different experiences, emotions, successes and failures.
The more I reflect on last year, the more I’ve realized that “good times” and “bad times” are kind of a myth. The truth is never black and white, it always exists in the grey zone.
Good moments and bad moments happen all the time, and how we judge each moment depends on all the different things that make up our perspective at any given time.
So before I tell you where we’re going, let’s take a look back and see what happened with 99 Lives in 2025, the good and the bad.
🤔 What happened in 2025
When 2025 began, 99 Lives was nothing more than a vision with a monthly blog.
Sometimes it’s so easy to forget where we started from, or what our mindset was like during the beginning. Luckily, I (finally) developed a consistent journal habit last year, so I could go back and see what those first months really felt like.
The truth is, the idea for 99 Lives first began at the end of 2023. And no matter what I did to ignore it, forget it, or focus on the other jobs in front of me, the idea and vision simply would not go away. I had to take a chance.
Fast forward to the beginning of 2026, and even my most optimistic self could not have envisioned what we accomplished in 2025. Here’s a small list:
Launched & published 20+ editions of 99 Lives 1st newsletter: Airplane Mode
Hosted the first 2 official 99 Lives in-person events, including our flagship event Airplane Mode Lisbon, a no-phone dinner full of connection you simply can’t find anywhere else
Soft launched the 99 Lives Culture Club in Lisbon with a small, but tight-knit group of incredible individuals who embody everything 99 Lives stands for
Spoke at 2 different events about 99 Lives vision for the future, and how quality connection will become the most valuable currency in the decade to come
This of course is a list of successes and growth, that doesn’t mean there weren’t setbacks and failures along the way either, and the truth is I am immensely grateful for all of it, the good and the bad.
The highlight of the year for 99 Lives was hosting the first edition of Airplane Mode Lisbon. Everything we do is focused on curating environments and groups of people who seek true connection that resonates long after the events have ended, and that’s exactly what we achieved.

🚀 What’s next in 2026
Dreaming is something I believe humans should never ever stop doing, it’s vital for keeping alive our curiosity and passion for life. What nobody tells you about dreaming is what to do next, after one of your dreams becomes a reality.
That’s why we spent December taking one step back, so we could take many more steps forward in 2026!
This year, we want to really push to create more events and environments that truly help others disconnect to reconnect. We want to unique create experiences that you won’t find anywhere else, moments built for the soul, that stick with you long after you’ve left.
We also want to start helping others shift there perspective about what our lifetimes can look like, how many lives we have left to live, and how we can truly build the world we want to live in, no matter what is going on in the outside world beyond our control.
Here’s a sneak peak of some things coming in 2026:
Airplane Mode Lisbon Dinners: Because demand was so incredibly high here, we will turn this into a monthly dinner series in 2026! We already have the date for the first dinner of the year… Friday, February 6th. Stay tuned for the email on this, as it’s going to fill up quickly!
More 99 Lives Events in Lisbon: Thanks to such great feedback from our community in 2025, we are cooking up some other unique events in the areas people want the most. Think of things like workshops on how to live more than once or intentional dating without apps. Good Things are Coming 👀
99 Lives Culture Club: We are deeply focused on growing and curating a small, but connected community of amazing minds and souls here in Lisbon in 2026 (and soon outside of Lisbon too 👀). We want a community full of people on the same wavelength and frequency, always looking to grow their curiosity, their ability to connect with themselves, others and the world.
Collabs & Retreats: Thanks to everything 2025 brought us, we are looking also to collaborate with other communities and brands in 2026. It’s early days here, but you can expect some cross-collaboration events with others doing amazing things, and if all goes well, look out for the first 99 Lives retreat in the 2nd half of 2026 👀
Thanks for staying locked in and rocking with 99 Lives up to this point. Your support means the world, but even more than your support, your commitment to becoming the very best version of yourself means even more.
We must believe we can build the world we want to live in, and that’s what all of us are going to continue doing together in 2026.
Stay Curious 🐆
P.S. A new & improved Airplane Mode newsletter is back & arriving in your inbox next week too, and every week after that, just in time for you to switch off & reconnect with the topics that matter most.
